Not-Art & Lots to read (F) (“my comments on other pages”):

Not-Art: My non-drawing: Two siblings are arguing with one another… Mother over-hears the words, “I hate you!” Mother chimes-in & says, “Children – that’s an ugly word. We do not use the word hate in this household.” Sibling calmly corrects themself: “I abhor you!”
American Idol: “You must put your own bend on the songs you choose,” “you must sing with your whole heart and mind and soul and substance!” (I think each contestant did.) Then I hear remade song(s) on the radio; exact same words, exact same notes, exact same blah. There must be two thousand examples of this out there. Listen to a good oldies station, {one that doesn’t play, “I Heard It Through The Grapevine” every twenty-minutes} and you will be surprised to hear how many songs are carbon-copies of old ones!

RE: “It Was Built This Way” Interesting, it reminds me of thoughts I’ve had recently – that the black singers who use the N word so so often are doing-so bc that’s how they really feel deep inside; it’s becoming automatic (just like their ancestors in chains), only this time the chains are invisible, indivisible. And who is really in control of this other than the predominantly white/rich – we who can afford the luxeries of daydreaming, war-by-proxy, & assumptions of safety?
I don’ think “start[ing] again” is plausible. We aren’t on “the inside” any more than Joe Wong in a Singapore gutter. When you personally have about 19 million follwers 1,000-of-which are in government/Fortune-500 leadership who aren’t in-it to spy on you, then I think that can be said. We just aren’t relevant to those in power; except to twist our “rights” or “votes” or children into another of their profit-churning gears.
“We need to listen, and…” !

RE: Didin’t read yet: gotta think about getting out into the real-world, as it must be, at-least ten-feet away from this monitor; coming-up on what must be hmmm “six-hours-now.” Maybe I’ll read it later.
For now I leave a thought: on “split personality disorder” – I wonder what strange mental aberrations are lurking, mushing-around in the subconsious souls of we privileged who never consciously think of what in the real world of such a schism of hearts & souls exist. What unheard laments must our own deep minds contain? Is is true that we have lost our souls to the malaire? I think we too suffer; we marvel & value our mechanical terrors & self-centristic mores – with our eyes at the top, we’ve forgotten that the roots connect us to the rest of life.

+1 RE: I would disagree. These are still very young people – nowhere-near having their full physical neural facilities.
I think we’re all in this together; for each person we throw away, we’re losing a part of ourselves and the chance to grow beyond ourselves & rise to the challenge of helping them properly. Seems to me they were brought-up in an already-rotting society, so how’s prison gonna be any different?
And it’s not just the music industry that’s full of them, they’re chock-full in politics & big-churches as well.

RE: Glad to hear of your conversation. Hope you continue to keep a pulse on this. I’ve read some pretty-interesting things on the chemistry & understandings of developing brains; more-so how they understood the world as more black & white than with metaphors. I’m amazed at some of the things that I did not understand for far too long, growing up.
RE: “…you’re still my good girl, you’ve just made some really bad choices today.” I think that’s a great way to put it. I think it’ll sink-in well.
I haven’t seen Megamind or Malificent yet.
Yeah, she’ll probably be back to glittery belts in no-time.
Thank you, too.
