Growled at a spindly little spider and told it to “run”; instead, it just crawled-away quickly.
.
Helped a guy at work; we were making the same parts & I was going faster than him. He mentioned he was having problems getting some of the parts unstuck from the jig. I gave him an idea that might help; then I thought, well great, now he’ll be faster than me.” Oh well; I guess there are worse things in life.

QUOTATIONS:
– From an interesting little read: http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-backroom/2312894/posts

“‘What good can a handgun do against an army?’, is in fact a complex one and must be answered at length and carefully. It is a military question. It is also a political question. But above all it is a moral question which strikes to the heart of what makes men free, and what makes them slaves.”

– Remebered part of this one today:

“The sensate minds, our minds, emphatically disbelieve in the power of love. It appears to us something illusionary – we call it self-deception, the opiate of a people’s mind, idealistic thoughts and unscientific illusion. We are biased against all theories that try to prove the power of love in {and?} other positive forces in determining human behavior and personality, in influencing the course of biological, social, moral, and mental evolution, in affecting the direction of human events, in shaping social institutions and cultures.” ~Sorokin, a great sociologist, in the introduction to his book, The Ways and Power of Love

– something really subversive:

“Do you want me to tell you something really subversive? Love is everything it’s cracked up to be. That’s why people are so cynical about it. It really is worth fighting for, being brave for, risking everything for. And the trouble is, if you don’t risk everything, you risk even more.” ~Erica Jong

– This one is counterintuitive, but I think it’s true:

“Man is least himself when he talks in his own person. Give him a mask, and he will tell you the truth.” ~Oscar Wilde
